1. Overview
This policy describes when you are eligible for a refund of fees paid for a Byte System masterclass Program, what process to follow, and what is excluded. It applies to all Programs purchased through byte-system.one. Nothing in this policy limits the rights you have as a consumer under the Korean Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce or other applicable consumer protection law.
2. When a refund is available
A full refund is available within fourteen (14) calendar days of payment, provided the Program has not yet started and you have not accessed gated cohort materials. A partial refund of fifty percent (50%) is available up to seven (7) days before the published Program start date. After a Program has started, refund eligibility moves to the credit policy described below.
3. What is non-refundable
The following are non-refundable: fees for short labs (programs of 2-3 weeks duration) once the Program has begun; one-on-one feedback fees once feedback has been delivered; fees paid for in-person workshop days where you have already received the workshop pack and venue details. Where a Program is cancelled by Byte System, you receive a full refund regardless of category.
4. How to request a refund
Send a request to policy@byte-system.one with your enrolment confirmation number, the Program name and cohort dates, and the reason for the request. We acknowledge requests within two (2) business days and resolve eligible requests within fourteen (14) business days. We may ask follow-up questions to confirm eligibility.
5. Refund processing time
Eligible refunds are issued by the same method used for the original payment. Bank transfers settle within five to ten (5-10) business days depending on bank processing time. Corporate card refunds settle within two to seven (2-7) business days. International transfers may take longer; we cover our side within the same window and your bank may add additional time.
6. Credit toward a future cohort
After a Program has started, you may transfer the value of your enrolment to a future cohort of any equivalent or lower-priced Program within twelve (12) months. Credits are non-refundable in cash and may not be transferred to another individual without our written agreement. Where a future cohort is more expensive, the difference is payable on transfer.
7. Cancellation or rescheduling by Byte System
If we cancel a Program before it begins, you receive a full refund or, at your option, transfer to the next available cohort. If we materially reschedule (more than 7 days from the original start date), you may either accept the new schedule or request a full refund. If we change the lead facilitator with less than 14 days notice, you may request a full refund within 7 days of the change announcement.
8. Korean consumer rights
Under the Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, consumers in the Republic of Korea generally have a 7-day cooling-off period for purchases of digital content and services. This policy provides protections that meet or exceed that statutory minimum (we offer a 14-day full-refund window). Nothing in this policy is intended to override consumer rights that cannot be waived by contract.
